TCU Horned Frogs vs ULM Warhawks Series Recap

After a series loss to Texas and a canceled game against UTRGV, the TCU Horned Frogs were primed and ready to go against the University of Louisiana at Monroe. The non-conference matchup took place at home in Lupton Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas where the ULM topped TCU.  

TCU VS ULM Series Game One

         The series began on Friday, May 14th at 6:30 pm, and the Horned Frogs started stagnant to put politely. While not scoring a single run in the first eight innings. The Horned Frogs dug themselves a hole they would not escape. The ULM Warhawks were able to keep the Horned Frogs at bay. By doing so, were able to win the first game in the series. While things may have seemed down in the first eight innings. In the ninth, the Horned Frogs were able to score three runs but would ultimately fall short with a strikeout that ended the game. With the Horned Frogs going on to drop the first game of the series 4-3. 

TCU VS ULM Series Game Two 

        In the second game of the three-game series, the TCU Horned Frogs came outperforming much better. With each team having two errors, both teams would have to step up when at-bat. Unfortunately, the Warhawks edged out the Horned Frogs when up to bat, beating down the team for the second game, 13-9. 

        The ULM Warhawks came out swinging and scored nine of their thirteen runs in the three innings. Compared to TCU’s two scores, the Horned Frogs once again found themselves facing a defecate early. The team would go onto respond with seven scores in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. Furthermore, the Warhawks came to play put the comeback to an end with another four scores in the sixth. 

        In a hard-fought game that was back and forth. The 24-22 ULM Warhawks went onto win the second game and the series against the TCU Horned Frogs. 

TCU VS ULM Series Game Three

        In the third and final game of the series and last game of the doubleheader. The TCU Horned Frogs were finally able to get into the win column. In another slow start, the team was unable to get on the board until the fifth inning until they had a two-score inning in the fifth and was followed into the sixth, where the team was able to put up another four scores. 

        On the other side of things, the Warhawks were able to get off to another quick start by putting up two scores in the first inning. The only other scores from the Warhawks came in the eighth and ninth innings. Where they were able to score once each. With the total of scores coming to 6-4, the Horned Frogs were finally able to get back on track and not get swept by taking the final game of the series. 

Overview

        After a rough loss and three-game series that included a doubleheader, the TCU Horned Frogs were able to steal the final game of the series dramatically. Doing so would vault the Horned Frogs series 35-14 overall and keep them ranked No. 6 in the nation. The team will next look to finish the Big 12 Conference strong with another three-game series. This time away against a dangerous Kansas State team.
