Shriner Tournament Coming Up

With the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic next on the schedule, TCU primed to be a threat in College Baseball. After a disappointing start to the season losing against SEC, TCU has won five straight. They are now ranked 13th in the nation trailing only Texas Tech in the Big 12.

Future Games

Looking at the upcoming schedule, TCU will play three winnable games against Texas A&M – Corpus Christie, Texas State, and Sam Houston. The chance to up the win streak to eight could propel the Horned Frogs into the top ten conversations. None of these games present much of a challenge. As for the real challenge, it’s to not overlook any of these opponents because that’s something this team cannot afford. If they want to be with Texas Tech and Texas, they need a stellar record going into the Big 12.

Head coach Schlossnagle got his team in a good position to compete with the top dog’s Texas Tech and Texas. Philip Sikes has led the team in hitting percentage with a 0.381 average. Jacob Meader has been the best pitcher on the team with only 1.08 ERA going along with the win.  In terms of team pitching TCU ranks 15 in total ERA which is the best in the Big 12.

TCU Has A Great Chance

For future matchups, the Frogs would like to see more out the offense but what they have is good. It’s just about taking that next step, for TCU that comes on consistent base hits. They have a great defense and above-average pitching. If coach Schloss can get them to be more efficient on the offensive side, I think that they can really do some damage in the Big 12 and beyond. It is still really early in the season so everything can change on a dime especially in college baseball.
