TCU Basketball Upcoming Games vs. OSU, and Baylor

The losing streak is now up to 5 in a row for Horned Frog basketball, and life doesn’t seem to be getting any easier. TCU’s next two games come against the nation’s best player and maybe the best team in the country.

It’s highly advertised that the Big 12 is the best conference for basketball this season, with over half the conference in the top 25 and Oklahoma State being the first ones out. This tough conference combined with the year of COVID is terrible news for teams like TCU, who are at the bottom and seem to keep getting caught in virus protocols.

Horned Frog Basketball vs. OSU

Their next game will be against the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Cade Cunningham. While OSU may not be the best team in the conference, Cade Cunningham is the number one player in the nation and will be the #1 pick in the upcoming NBA draft. He averages 18.1 points per game and can single-handedly take over games.

After OSU, however, TCU gets to play Baylor, the No. 2 team in the country. Who, might I mention, has not lost a game this season.

TCU’s best chance to once again enter the win column will be against OSU, but they will need to shut down Cunningham. The TCU defense has had spurts of success when guarding one single person. For tonight, they need to be consistent with this to effectively stop Cunningham. On offense, they will need to score and score a lot to win against OSU. R.J. Nembhard and Mike Miles Jr. have proven they are reliable scorers, but the rest of the team will need to step up and score more for them to have success.

TCU vs. Baylor

There isn’t much to be said about the matchup against Baylor. Mostly because of Baylors’ proven dominance over every team in the Big 12 this season. TCU is a significant underdog, and because of that, we may see Baylor come out over-confident. Across the board, however, Baylor is the more talented team. Scoring against Baylor is, of course, the biggest priority. But the Bears just went into Austin and defeated a Texas team that ranks 161 spots ahead of TCU nationally in terms of scoring. TCU will need to come together with each player stepping up, concentrating on making few mistakes, and play defense like their lives depend on it if they want to come out on top.

Horned Frog Basketball Score Predictions

Now we come to the point where I give my take on who will win and by how much. This week is relatively straight forward. TCU will keep it close but wind up losing to OSU 72-64. Against Baylor, this game will be a tough one, with Baylor getting the win 85-78. Will these games are entertaining, yes they will, and it’s essential to see how these guys will respond leading into the home stretch, and we’ll see if they hang their heads or take pride and finish strong.
